Court rules recess appointments unconstitutional

Legal specialists said its reasoning would virtually eliminate the recess appointment power for all future presidents at a time when it has become increasingly difficult to win Senate confirmation for nominees.

Mr. Obama has made about 32 such appointments, including that of Richard Cordray, as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. President Bill Clinton made 139, while Mr. Bush made 171, including those of John R. Bolton as ambassador to the United Nations and two appeals court judges, William H. Pryor Jr. and Charles W. Pickering Sr.

Nearly all of those appointments would be unconstitutional under the rationale of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

See, way back in the foggy mists of 2001, the GOP told us it was treason to ever criticize a president following a terrorist attack. So how is it possible that in 2012 the Democratic president should be impeached for not acting quickly enough when our overseas consulate was attacked, while in 2001, a GOP POTUS who sits numbly in a nursery school classroom as the nation is under attack is somehow more manly than John Wayne freebasing AndroGel?

Well, the brain that accepts this has the attention span like the guy from “Memento.”

But good news, congressional Republicans — Barack Obama has heard your complaints he didn’t do enough when the Benghazi attack was in progress, and now in the event of another terrorist attack, the Secret Service is authorized to give the president a copy of “My Pet Goat.” That’s today’s GOP: Come for the hypocrisy, stay for the misogyny.

I need this: “SingNshock alarm clock delivers an electric shock to wake you up”

Currently in the prototype phase, the singNshock alarm clock combines music with a slight jolt of electricity to help get you out of bed in the morning. Developed by 19-year-old automotive design student Sankalp Sinha, the futuristic mock-up of the alarm clock includes a digital touch panel on the front with icons for battery power, speaker volume, brightness level, time, music selection and an on/off switch for the shock feature. Sinha has built the speakers into the rear of the device in addition to a MMC slot for a 32GB SD memory card that stores your favorite music.

Regarding the shock feature, the large aluminum coated button at the top of the clock is designed to turn off the alarm each morning as well as deliver a mild electrical shock when active.

According to the project details, the level of the jolt is measured in millivolts and would likely be much milder than a typical shock from a buildup of static electricity. Sinha came up with the idea of using an electric shock to kickstart his brain in the morning after waking up late for class several times in a row.
